Here we
in Villa Rica. Just send an article to the journal of Burgos so perhaps soon we will read. Here we
The days go fast in a world that sometimes we find difficult, accustomed to the comforts thousand Burgos. The mattress is thin and our back is a bit battered, sometimes the water does not come out all hot and clean like us in town, but this year we saw a green brigade, leaves much to be desired. Then there are the mosquitoes, which can be light for a day, no washing machine, you have to boil water for drinking, ... You see, a world different from ours that I have trouble getting used to.
Anyway, all this is offset by the warmth of the people. People you talk to, people who opens their homes, people who you are kissing when they are fired, simple people very grateful good people ... People like us who have, in general, without knowing why, a life far more uphill than ours, people who suffer a bit more than that established for other people.
Today I want to tell the Paulina and Jose Feliciano, a married couple living in a neighborhood, even more humble than the rest, in a shabby but very dignified. She is president of the neighborhood, sometimes it is not well understood, but struggle as one of its neighbors. With much effort they are giving their children study. The small, Gaby, has begun this year Accounting in Tingo Maria, 14 hours away. We searched for a sponsor in Spain to support him. Otherwise higher education are almost prohibitive. Feliciano works in a lumber company in Iscozazín over 5 hours and is very smiley. Spends little time at home. The work has been taking its toll on his thin body. He had an accident last October. A log smashed and still has consequences. He spent a good season without work and, of course, free of charge. Are a couple fighting. A fighter.
We were invited to eat and we had a great time. Have in the small room that serves as dining tables with high school graduations of their children. Are evangelicals. Paul gives thanks to God for life, a life full of difficulties they face with hope. They are a poor family but wanted to breathe better, to help, to make your neighborhood a better place. Paulina us goodbye and starts to dream of all I want for their neighborhood. We are currently waiting for the city of Burgos resolve positively the grant we applied for improving the bathrooms and kitchens of El Cerrito San Francisco, home to Pauline and Feliciano.
We also live with hope and optimism. Another more just world is possible. We are working.
