few days ago I returned from this trip to Peru. And go a few. This country is becoming a bit of my home.
A part of me and lives in Villa Rica. Part of me lives in the South. In these summers I learned a lot, a lot of me and some of the poor, the have-nots, those who every day have to fight to live. They have so much to teach ... And can not be otherwise, I live with them and like them. Although at the moment have to be in these latitudes my life is with them. I want to share your life and grow with them. Maybe I can help in some cases, their lives are more worthy, more human. Maybe they can make my life more human, more full of life.
The first days at Burgos are, at least, strange. I live in a house with many amenities and the simplest things seem extraordinary: I can open the faucet and drink the water without boiling it, the mosquitoes do not bother me and can not transmit disease, the streets of my neighborhood are paved and there is little dirt, I I can shower (lots of people in Villa Rica has no such possibility ),... I could go on with thousands of details.
next thing is to ask what have I done to deserve this. The answer is simple: NOTHING. For that immediately arises in me the wish that everyone in this world have the same opportunities that I enjoy. And desire can only be actually working. I know that our contribution, in the words of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, is a drop in the ocean. But that drop is essential. We can best help we live, each according to their possibilities, since his time. Urge the commitment to a fairer world. Let's open our eyes to the needs of others, of course starting for those who are closest.
few days ago I returned from the South but I'm still there.
